December 7, 2014Application(s): 1/10 scale buggy/stadium truck
Comments: Since 2006 I have been using Tower Hobbies TS-140 Digital Standard HS servo for my buggy racing needs. I didn't want to spend big bucks, just to gain .05 seconds of speed, after I spent so much already for other electronics for my new buggy. After a lot of searching on specs/prices on tons of servos... I settled on the TS-140. I'm glad I gave it a try.
The $25.99 TS-140 is plenty fast enough with great tourqe for buggy use. I even used the TS-140 in my stadium truck that had destroyed a stock servo for a short time while I searched for a replacement with a little more tourque (to be on the safe side of moving bigger tires).
It's now almost 2015 and I have only replaced the gears once since 2006. The TS-140 is on my wish list should the one I have now decide give out. I don't need fancy lettering/graphics or a top brand name servo that is gonna cost twice as much, or more, than the TS-140. It gets the job done, and it does it so well.
