April 17, 2015Application(s): Activating the Retract air diverter switch
Comments: This is a good servo but make sure on a low throw application you have the end points set very low to start. You can move the end points out to get the throw you want. I have a air diverter switch that I ruined two of these servos (gear trains)with. The gears strip out really easily if they dead end.

January 24, 2015Application(s): Full flying elevator for 3.75-4 pound 3000m Bird of Time glider.
Comments: At the time I purchased the S3101 it was one of the best servos in it's size available but the particular servo I received had a little play in the gears equal to 2 maybe 3 clicks of trim on a DX9, so not much except it's on a full flying elevator so "almost" noticeable and not good for an accurate trim setting and was not perfect like the S3114's that had no play whatsoever I had intended to use and were called for. (The S3114's were too small and stronger than their mounts even with DS tape for such a large glider so I used the weight required to mount them on a larger servo) I may have gotten a loose set of gears and the amount of play is very small and would likely be called normal without the S3114's to compare them to. So I'll take advantage of time and replace it with a lighter weight modern digital servo. But it is quite powerful and did the job well with that one exception. JFH^^
