    Application(s): RC Buggy steering servo

Comments: Beware of the Fake Futaba S3003 Servos. Easy to spot, the fake has a white spline, the real thing is black. The mounting brackets on each end of the servo may have holes situated off the ends of the fake, where the real thing has holes closer to the servo. If you think you're getting a great bargain, you're probably not. There's a good chance it's a poorly made fake.

    Application(s): 2WD Stock Buggy

Comments: Been using one of these in 2wd stock buggy that gets used at least once a week for nearly 3 years, great servo, just make sure you use a servo saver with it. Also use the copies in on-road without any issues but not as reliable as the original.

Comments: Works great, although a little slow.

Application(s): collective and cyclic 30 size helicopter (century hawk pro)

Comments: good servo for cars I guess but do not put this servo in the air. I had a major crash of my 30 size heli because of this servo. I do not blame Futaba, it's my fault. (It's expensive to be cheap !) Alot of used 30 size heli on Ebay come with this servo so when you get your heli, put those away and go with better servos, in the end you will be spending more in servos but way less in repairs. believe me I KNOW !

    Application(s): arduino project

Comments: This is a decent servo for every hobbyist and electronics student. What people need to know is that this servo has been copied by Chinese manufactures and sold on ebay for a fraction of the cost of the original. Problem is that the fake ones have very erratic behavior and slow response. The originals are quite smooth. If you google "Fake Futaba S3003 Servos" you will find more information.

    Beware!

Comments: For the price, the s3003 is not that bad.The downside to it are the gears.

    Application(s): arduino projects

Comments: When i use it on the arduino, it works verry buggy.
when i tur it 180 degrees, it then starts to do crazy stuff.
it som times gets stuck at one side so it doesnt want to move at all.

    February 4, 2012

Application(s): flap servo for .40 size warbird

Comments: Works good for flaps, low power consumption and its pretty light.

  • BigWrenn

    February 4, 2011

Application(s): Steering servo for various 1/10 scale buggies.

Comments: Being that it's a basic servo it's not too bad for general applications. They will strip gears easily and that's the downside to them.
