Makers praise the value, the daisy-chain wiring, the position, temperature and load feedback, and the easy, well-documented setup, and it is the servo most builders of the open-source SO-100 and SO-101 arms use. Retailer ratings are generally positive but sample sizes are small, and some buyers report dead units or a frustrating first setup. Bench tests and builder reports show measurable backlash and slow-speed judder that needs PID tuning. Heat is a concern, with one test pushing a unit very hot without a thermal shutdown. Builders also report grippers or joints stalling under sustained load and ending in a stiff or dead servo, and wrong-voltage mistakes destroy units quickly.
