Application(s): Used as the stock servo in a Traxxas Revo 3.3 (#5309) to shift the transmission between forward and reverse.
Comments: I assembled my own stock Revo 3.3 (#5309) from brand new stock parts I acquired over eBay. During assembly, while tightening the servo horn screw onto the 2065, I apparently wasn't careful enough, because what looked like tiny broken teeth had fallen onto the table.
Somehow, this new (now stripped?) servo still functioned enough to shift the transmission between forward and reverse. I broke-in the new TRX 3.3 engine as required (no shifting into reverse at all during break-in). Afterwards, I drove perhaps only three tanks of fuel through my Revo(utilizing reverse), before taking it to the track. At the track, my truck would not shift between forward and reverse at all. The 2065 servo had completely failed.
18 days later, I replaced the failed 2065 servo, with a brand new 2065 servo. This time, I was extra careful, so I wouldn't strip the teeth on the new servo. After I got the transmission shifting smoothly on the bench, I packed up, and later that day, I was back at the track. Before starting my Revo, I switched on the transmitter, and then the truck's electronics. Steering and throttle tested normally, but the transmission would not shift!
I immediately paused to test the new 2065 servo.
Ultimately, it was deemed to be completely failed as well, and I hadn't even started the truck yet!
