Notes
- The discontinued Hyperion DS16-FMD is the rugged, high-durability version of the Atlas 16mm-class digital wing servo. It takes the same slim, aerodynamic profile and fast motor ("F") and fortifies it with a rugged all-Metal gear train ("M") and a precise Dual ball-bearing supported output ("D"). This servo is designed for high-performance, high-stress wing-mounted applications. It is an outstanding choice for the large, high-load flaps on a giant-scale glider, or for the ailerons on a very large, very fast electric jet or hotliner. The metal gears provide the strength to handle extreme aerodynamic loads at high speeds without fear of stripping.
- The core identity of the DS16-FMD is its "indestructible aerodynamics." It allows pilots of the fastest and most powerful aircraft to maintain a perfectly clean and efficient wing profile, while still having the peace of mind that comes from a bulletproof metal gear train. It is a servo for the pilot who is pushing the limits of speed and performance and is unwilling to compromise on the durability of their control system.
- In robotics, the Hyperion DS16-FMD is a unique and powerful actuator. Its combination of a slim profile, high power, and extreme durability makes it suitable for a range of specialized tasks. It would be an outstanding choice for the joints of a slim but powerful robotic arm designed for a high-load industrial application, or for any mechanism that requires a tough, powerful actuator to operate reliably in a very confined space.
