Notes
- The discontinued Hyperion DS09-AMD is a high-quality digital sub-micro servo that brings the precision and reliability of the Atlas series to a very accessible price point. Its model designation breaks down its high-quality construction: a reliable 3-pole Armature motor ("A"), a rugged all-Metal gear train ("M"), and a slop-free Dual ball-bearing supported output shaft ("D"). This servo is an outstanding, all-around performer in the 9-gram class, making it a superb upgrade for the flight controls on a high-quality park flyer, or as a durable cyclic servo for a 450-class helicopter.
- The identity of the DS09-AMD is that of a premium, durable workhorse. It combines the crisp, responsive feel of a digital controller with a virtually indestructible gear train. For the sport pilot who flies hard and may experience the occasional rough landing, the metal gears provide invaluable peace of mind. The dual ball bearings ensure that the servo's motion remains smooth and precise throughout a long service life. It is a servo that offers a professional feel and robust construction for the serious enthusiast.
- In robotics, the Hyperion DS09-AMD is a fantastic choice for small-scale projects that need to be both precise and tough. It is an ideal actuator for the joints of a small walking robot that will be traversing challenging terrain, or for a compact robotic gripper that needs to be both strong and reliable. It offers a superior level of durability and precision for building more capable and resilient micro-robots.

Application(s): rudder on a 15oz foam 3D biplane
Comments: Bought (2) of these servos and one started wagging back and forth as I was adjusting the endpoints. Apparently this is a common problem with these servos and they aren't cheap either.
